GLOBE40 2028/2029
The Great Highway: a double-handed Class40 race around the world.
Five stages and more than 30,000 miles, starting in Spain, October 2028
and finishing in Lorient, France, April 2029.

What is the Globe40?
The Globe40 is a round-the-world race open to both knowledgeable amateurs and professional skippers. It combines sporting performance, adventure and travel, follows a route that breaks from traditional patterns with unprecedented stages, and is built on a platform that is accessible both sportingly and financially.
The Boat
The Class40 is the reference monohull for offshore racing, alongside the 60-foot IMOCA boats of the Vendée Globe. As an international class, it gives the Globe40 a truly global dimension.
A Double-Handed Race
Each boat is raced by two sailors, with the option of changing one of the two skippers at each stage.
The Route
The 3rd edition of the Globe40 starts in Spain at the beginning of October 2028. After more than 30,000 miles of offshore racing across 5 stages, the fleet finishes in Lorient, France, Europe's leading offshore racing hub, in April 2029. The provisional course (as of 1 September 2026) runs from a prologue on France's Atlantic coast and the Grand Départ in Spain, to South Africa (Stage 1), across the Indian Ocean to Australia (Stage 2), across the Pacific to Chile (Stage 3), around Cape Horn to southern Brazil/Uruguay (Stage 4), and back up the Atlantic to the finish in Lorient (Stage 5).
